Overview

RDX Insight is a Windows®-based software that enhances RDX systems by providing administrative and management tools, along with features for business continuity and data security.

RDX Insight supports you in:

Features and Benefits

Business Continuity

Easy 1-click backup and creation of boot cartridge

  • Even inexperienced users can successfully perform a system restore.

Cartridge eject after backup

  • Air gap protection to avoid malware infection of your backup

System Recovery directly from your RDX cartridge

  • Effortlessly recover your system following a complete system or disk crash, or in the event of a ransomware attack. This ensures a swift return to normal operation.

Data Security

BitLocker drive encryption feature

  • Encrypts data on RDX media on all RDX QuikStor systems (USB and SATA)
  • Secures against data theft during off-site storage, transit or archive

Password protection

  • Provides full or read-only protection of cartridges from unauthorized access

Use Cases

System Recovery

RDX Insight allows users to create a bootable RDX cartridge and provides full system backup for fast recovery.

  • Ensures low downtime and greatly reduces outage costs
  • Expand your business continuity and increase competitiveness

No company can afford extended business downtime. In the event of a system crash due to hardware issues, cyberattacks such as ransomware, or local disasters, quick restoration of business operations is essential.

In case of a system crash, System Recovery ensures that the system is restored from scratch and data is fully recovered.

Just insert the bootable RDX cartridge to quickly restart and recover your Windows system and bring it back exactly to the way it was before.

3-2-1-1 Data Protection

RDX Insight provides all the capabilities needed for a 3-2-1-1 strategy.

  • Full system backup creation
  • Automatic cartridge eject for Air Gapped malware protection
  • Encryption and password protection for secure off-site storage
  • Cloud Services for additional off-site repository

Backup 3-2-1 has been a long-accepted best practice for on-prem data protection. But with the evolution of hybrid cloud infrastructures, growing sophistication of cyberthreats, and proliferation of structured and unstructured data, that standard has now improved to 3-2-1-1. The new 3-2-1-1 strategy translates to maintaining 3 backup copies of your data, storing them on 2 different media, keeping at least 1 copy at an offsite location, and 1 copy offline.

Cloud Services

With RDX Insight Cloud Storage Support, it’s simple to move data between the cloud and RDX data cartridges.

  • Backup your cloud data to RDX or migrate data from RDX to the cloud
  • Access your data in case of an inaccessible or slow network directly from RDX data cartridge
  • Transfer data to an RDX cartridge to conserve costly cloud storage space and maintain cost-effectiveness
  • Supports Dropbox and Google Drive

The cloud is a popular data storage resource for businesses. Relying entirely on the cloud for data and system recovery, long-term data archive, or regulatory compliance may not be possible or cost-effective for all systems, applications, and data types. Connection bandwidth to the cloud may also be limited, making rebuilding systems or restoring large volumes of data too slow, expensive, and impractical.

Copying data to RDX cartridges with RDX Insight Cloud Services helps to address these problems.

Utilization Notification

With RDX Insight, users stay informed about the capacity utilization of their RDX cartridge.

  • Enables users to set an individual threshold, triggering notifications when a specified capacity limit for a cartridge is reached.
  • Facilitates timely acquisition of new RDX cartridges.

The utilization notification feature offers users a continuous view of the current capacity of their RDX data cartridges. This ensures that backups are never missed because of capacity constraints. Various color schemes indicate when a chosen capacity threshold is met. Users can decide whether they need a new, empty cartridge or if the remaining capacity is sufficient for another backup.
